Have you ever walked into your job and felt like you just entered the gates of hell? No flames, no pitchforks; just that one coworker or boss who seems to thrive off making your life miserable. The ones who make your blood pressure spike before your first cup of coffee. The ones who downgrade your work, not because it is bad, but because you refuse to bow at their feet like everyone else does.
Meet the Workplace Devils
These devils do not wear red capes; they wear fake smiles and title badges. They thrive on control, manipulation, and intimidation. They love an audience, you know, the people who shower them with praise, laugh at their dry jokes, and co-sign their nonsense to stay in good graces. Meanwhile, you are over there minding your business, doing your job, and refusing to participate in their daily worship service. For that, you get labeled as “unproductive,” “not a team player,” or “unengaged.”
Let’s be clear: not worshipping someone’s ego is not the same as being uncooperative.
The Tactics of the Workplace Devil
Just Leaving the Devil Behind do not need horns. Their tactics are slick:
- Gaslighting: “Are you sure that happened? I don’t recall saying that.”
- Undermining: “That’s great, but let’s go with Sarah’s idea instead.”
- Gatekeeping: Keeping you out of meetings, projects, and promotions that you are more than qualified for.
- Fake Support: Acting like they are rooting for you in public while privately making sure you never move up.
- Intimidation & Public Call-Outs: They love embarrassing people in front of others to feel superior.
Do you know the worst freaking part? THEY NEVER SEEM TO GET FIRED. They survive every round of layoffs, keep getting promotions, and somehow, always land on their feet.
I am done with the bull****
I cannot change them, but I can change where I place my energy. I refuse to let someone’s insecurity turn me into someone I am not. I refuse to let their pettiness push me into bitterness.
So, no I am not leaving the company.
I am leaving the devil before I turn into one.
